Another former player throws shade at the Titans
Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Linebacker Monty Rice clearly wasn't taking notes when Jaleel Johnson was waived by the Tennessee Titans a couple weeks ago, because Rice just made the exact same mistakes.

Rice was waived by the Titans on Tuesday afternoon and immediately took to social media and threw shade at his former team.

"Thank God," read tweet wrote from Tuesday afternoon just before the transaction. "If you wanna know the truth just cut on the tape since I got here," Rice wrote in another.

Some of these posts are not all that different from the ones Johnson put out there shortly after being waived. Like Rice, Johnson made a reference to "the tape" and what it would reveal about the Titans' defense.

After a shocking move brought Johnson back to Tennessee's 53-man roster, the veteran defensive lineman spoke to the media and apologized to his coaches and teammates for his actions. He handled it like a true pro, saying he was surprised and fortunate that Mike Vrabel and the Titans gave him another shot.

Rice may not be so lucky after going down this road. The 24-year-old linebacker and former third round pick snuck onto the Titans' roster to fill a special teams role after getting squeezed out of the rotation at linebacker. Over time, Rice earned more defensive opportunities, and seemed to be trending in the right direction before being waived.

Mike Vrabel is set to address the media tomorrow afternoon. His comments on the Rice situation were going to be interesting regardless, but I'm even more intrigued by what he will say now that a second player has thrown shade at the organization in as many weeks.
